Like This For Ever by Sharon Bolton

Thursday, November 14th 2013

I’m thrilled to be a part of the blog tour for Sharon Bolton’s ‘Like This For Ever’ – just released in paperback by Transworld.

Reviews for all of her previous books have been stunning and with this, the latest in her Lacey Flint series, she once again makes clear why it is she is firmly on top of her game. Here is a crime writer who simply loves nothing more than to put the fear of god up her readers, book after book.

Here’s what the early reviews of the hardback release of ‘Like This For Ever’ had to say:

Bolton rules the world of psychological thrillers – Huffington Post

Ingenious – Washington Post

It would be a crime to miss this opportunity !

Friday, July 12th 2013
The Telegraph and leading publisher Harvill Secker are joining forces to launch the most exciting new competition in crime fiction. The prize is a £5,000 book deal and, to help you win it, top authors such as Jo Nesbo and Henning Mankell will be offering tips and advice in a series of exclusive online masterclasses. Jake Kerridge reports. When Fifty Shades of Grey was ousted from the top of the paperback bestseller charts last year, I was not surprised that the culprit was Peter James’s crime thriller Not Dead Yet. We may enjoy the occasional spicy fling with other genres, but our relationship with crime fiction is enduring and committed.

I’m in a Turf War !

Friday, May 3rd 2013

Over at Crime Files at Headline Publishing’s website – which you can visit HERE, I’ve become embroiled in a vicious Turf War with another crime blogger, the legend that is @milorambles on twitter and his excellent blog milorambles.

So far it’s all been very gentlemanly and the first votes cast were by us for each other, no weapons have been drawn, but who knows where it’ll end ?

As they say on all those crap reality shows – ‘only you can decide’!

Happy voting

The History of England – Volume 1:Foundation by Peter Ackroyd

Thursday, September 1st 2011

Whilst something of a break from the norm for a Books and Writers post, in that I rarely cover non-fiction, this is such an epic project that I could not let it slip me by.  Particularly when, as part of Peter Ackroyd’s blog tour this week, the crime and punishment feature was presented to me.

Peter Ackroyd is one of Britain’s greatest living writers.  This month Macmillan publish FOUNDATION – the first of a hugely ambitious 6 book History of England series.  The Bookseller have already described it as ‘probably the biggest non-fiction of our times’.  It is the culmination of Peter’s literary talents and we hope it will become the history of England for a new generation. …
